The past year has been an amazing 12 months for pop star Ed Sheeran, so fans in Iceland were shocked, when a newspaper error led to a photo of the singer next to an obituary.

The newspaper, Morgunbladid, printed the obituary about a mechanic, who had sadly died at the age of 82, but unfortunately somehow a photo of the 'Shape of You' singer found itself next to the text.

A number of people have since been tweeting photos of the newspaper showing Ed's photo.

Don't worry though, Ed Sheeran is most definitely NOT dead and has recently announced his engagement to his long-term girlfriend Cherry Seaborn.

Ed announced the happy news in an Instagram post last weekend in which he said, 'Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx'.

The caption accompanied a super cute photo of the couple having a a kiss and a hug. This photo has now been liked by over five million fans and attracted over 150,000 messages of congratulations, from both celebrities and fans.

The past two months have been incredibly successful for Ed, not only has he become engaged, his single 'Perfect' was Christmas number 1 and at the beginning of December he collected his MBE from the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace.

Congratulations Ed and Cherry!
