Former The Only Way Is Essex star Kate Wright has received heaps of praise from her fans after she posted a heartbreaking, yet inspirational message to her social media accounts for Mother's Day.

Katie decided to quit reality TV when she went public with her boyfriend, former Manchester United and England footballer Rio Ferdinand, and she now lives with him and his three children.

39-year-old Rio tragically lost his wife Rebecca at the age of only 34 back in May 2015, when she lost her battle with breast cancer. Rebecca left behind her three children, Tate, Tia and Lorenz. After her death, Rio admitted Rebecca's dying wish was for him to be happy and find love again, as she didn't want him 'alone and miserable'.

And as Mother's Day took place on Sunday, Katie told fans how they are living in a house 'full of grief' and admitted the struggles of trying to get Rio and his children through the tough days.

She wrote, 'Happy Mother’s Day to my lovely mum 💗 I love you so much. Although I am lucky to have my mum here with me today I can’t help but feel so overwhelmed and full of emotions that both Rio and the children don’t have their mums with them today. We are living in a house full of grief trying to get through and days like today just feel so tough. Celebrate your mother’s and keep them close 💗.'

Kate then decided to send an inspirational message to all of the step mums out there, she added, '& Happy Mother’s Day to all the step mums out there it’s a hard role that I don’t think anyone often gets the credit they deserve for it. If you aren’t being celebrated make sure u know u r doing an amazing job!' sic

Fans of the former TOWIE star were quick to praise Kate for her lovely words. One user wrote, 'I love this and am sure the children And Rio do too', with another adding, 'Are so lovely @xkatiewright you really are such a amazing person ❤. sic

Another then wrote, 'Truly beautiful words... ❤️ we can’t take away their pain, but we can do our damnest to try and make each day a little brighter x'. sic

It comes after Kate showed off her kind heart last month for Valentine's Day. Making sure Rio's children didn't feel left out, Kate bought them all identical gifts, beautifully wrapped in red paper.

Sharing a photo of the gifts, Kate wrote, 'HAPPY VALENTINES to the 3 poochies ❤️❤️❤️❤️' sic

Kate decided to take a step back from the world of showbiz when she went public with Rio last year. At the time she said, "I'm taking a step back from the public eye. I want to keep my life private. My priority right now is Rio and the family."
