Justin Bieber Arrested, Charged With Assault & Dangerous Driving
The alleged incident happened in his native Canada
Canadian pop star Justin Bieber has been charged with assault and dangerous driving following an alleged incident near his hometown of Stratford, Ontario.
The 20-year-old āBabyā singer was taken into custody on Friday afternoon (29th August) after an All Terrain Vehicle allegedly crashed with a minivan in the Township of Perth.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said they were called to the scene of the collision shortly before 3pm where they discovered there had been an altercation.
āInvestigation revealed that after colliding, the driver of the ATV and an occupant of the minivan engaged in a physical altercation,ā an OPP press release said. After being charged with dangerous driving and assault, Bieber is now due to appear in court in Stratford on Monday 29th September.
Last month Justin pleaded guilty to misdemeanour charges of careless driving and resisting arrest after he was detained following an āillegal street drag raceā in Miami Beach in January.
As part of the plea agreement, Bieber agreed to pay a $50,000 charitable contribution, pay a $500 fine and take part in a private 12-hour anger-management course.
The plea meant that Justin avoided the more serious punishment for driving under the influence (DUI).
In July, Justin was ordered by a judge to pay $80,000 after he pleaded guilty to egging his neighbourās home in Calabasas, California.
Justin also has two outstanding lawsuits for assault against him.
