Jurassic World sequel set to hit cinemas in 2018!
Expect more genetically engineered dinosaurs
Absolutely colossal news! Universal Pictures have announced that a Jurassic World sequel is in the works!
Although no title has been revealed yet, it has been confirmed that it will be released in cinemas across the globe in June 2018.
Chris Pratt will reprise his role as Velociraptor trainer Owen Grady, while Bryce Dallas Howard will once again play Isla Nublar park manager Claire Dearing.
Filmmaking legend Steven Spielberg will act as executive producer with Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow penning the script.
The decision to follow-up Jurassic World was understandably a no brainer after the first film in the rebooted franchise made a phenomenal $1.524billion (£970million) at the global box office.
Less than two months after its release, Jurassic World has already become the third highest grossing movie of all time behind Titanic ($2.186billion) and Avatar ($2.787billion).
Released 22 years ago, the first pioneering movie Jurassic Park was also a gargantuan success at cinemas across the world making $1.029billion.
Its two sequels – 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park and 2001’s Jurassic Park III – fared less well making $618million and $368million respectively leading to a 14 year gap in the franchise.
