Britain's hottest soul singer is In:Demand with Alex
If you missed the interview you can hear it all again here, including John talking about his student days, his big break with Rudimental and some potential friction in his friendship with Plan B.
Speaking about how he got involved with Rudimental John said, "I met a guy called Piers who started playing in my band as a keyboard player. I moved in with him because I lost my job and we started writing music together.
"I met his friends and they had this little group going and they became, what is now, the amazing Rudimental. We got in the studio one day and started writing over this hook and got Feel the Love."
Speaking about his friendship with Plan B, John said, "We're almost a little bit too close I think. I've heard he's in a mood with me. It's just little things where we're coming a bit too close but the guy massively inspires me and that's all it is, but I just want to do my own thing."
