After the shock announcement last year that the pair were to divorce, Jennifer has finally spoken out about the break up of her marriage and losing the love of her life.
Talking to reporter Krista Smith in a Santa Monica restaurant she apologised for being late saying, "I didn’t think I was nervous, but then I realised I was at the wrong restaurant."
The 43-year-old then poured out her heart telling Krista how she has sleepless nights and is now 'temporary roommates' with her 10-year-old daughter Violet. She had never been one for watching TV on her phone but she now regularly watches it with Violet as they are sleeping next to each other, "I’m happy to have her; she’s happy to have me" she says.
When the couple announced their split last year rumours were rife that Ben had had an affair with the children's nanny - 28-year-old Christine Ouzounian - but Jennifer put the record straight saying, "We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny. She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce."
However, it's clear from the interview that the Alias actress still has strong feelings for her ex as she tells the reporter, "He’s the love of my life. What am I going to do about that? He’s the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous. He’s just a complicated guy. I always say, ‘When his sun shines on you, you feel it.’ But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it’s cold. He can cast quite a shadow.”
While Jennifer's parents have been married for 51 years, sadly she has been married twice already saying, "It’s one of the pains in my life that something I believe in so strongly I’ve completely failed at twice. You have to have two people to dance a marriage."
The couple who married in 2005, are still living at their Los Angeles estate with their children, although Ben is understood to be staying in one of the guesthouses on the three acre site.
