James Corden isn't exactly shy - but he doesn't exactly like to open up about his private life all that much. However, he's changed his tune in a rare interview with People and opened up about the moment he clapped eyes on his wife, Julia Carey.

The couple, who got married in 2012, now share three beautiful children - but how did it all begin?

The 39-year-old revealed to the publication that within hours of their first meeting, the couple, who share seven-year-old Max, three-year-old Carey and six-month-old Charlotte, had actually planned an entire life together after being introduced at an event for Save The Children, who Julia worked for.

James recounted how nine years ago, he'd been out partying a lot after his girlfriend of eight years broke up with him and he was living in a flat in London's Primrose Hill with his friend, actor Dominic Cooper.

But he decided to swap the hectic lifestyle for a more relaxed way of life, saying, "I had been trying not to go out as much, I was trying to be OK on my own," adding that Dominic had persuaded him to go to the event.

"I said, 'I'm really enjoying this thing of cooking dinner, falling asleep, not really drinking'," he revealed, adding, "He said, 'Come on let's go it'll be fun.'"

After Dominic introduced the pair, James explained, "I said, 'Hi Jules you might be the most beautiful woman in the world.' She said, 'Thank you very much, that sounds like something you say a lot.'

"And I said, 'I've never said it before in my life.'"

They searched out a corner of the bar, agreeing on how they were both "past the notion of going out every night" and that they'd both prefer a quiet night in.

He continued, "And I remember saying to her, 'Well what about this Friday we could do nothing together and you could come over and we could just do nothing and then maybe if we could do nothing on the Saturday and do nothing on the Sunday and if our evenings are enough nothing then maybe this would become something.'"

"And she said, 'That sounds like a fun idea.' So I cooked her a steak and fries on the Friday night and we had Max just under two years later and we got married later that year and now we have three kids and it's great."

Wow - what a story!
