James Bond: Spectre Script Stolen By Hackers
The producers are concerned it might be leaked to the public
Hackers have stolen an early script for the new James Bond movie, Spectre, in a cyber attack on the filmmakers.
Producers of the movie have confirmed that the screenplay was taken during a hack on Sony Pictures Entertainment on 24th November.
In an official statement on their website, Eon Productions voiced concern that the script might now be leaked to the public.
It reads: "Eon Productions, the producers of the James Bond films, learned this morning that an early version of the screenplay for the new Bond film SPECTRE is amongst the material stolen and illegally made public by hackers who infiltrated the Sony Pictures Entertainment computer system.
"Eon Productions is concerned that third parties who have received the stolen screenplay may seek to publish it or its contents."
Filming on the movie began earlier this month following a huge press launch with the entire cast at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.
As well as introducing new cast members like Christoph Waltz as Bond’s nemesis Openheimer plus Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux as Bond girls Lucia Sciarra and Madeleine Swann, the launch also saw the unveiling of new Aston Martin DB10 car.
Despite the hack, Sony spokesman Robert Lawson told Reuters that productions on the movie are “still moving forward.”
The last Bond movie, 2012’s Skyfall, made $1.1billion (640million) at the global box office making it the seventh highest-grossing film of all time and the highest ever in the UK.
