Jack Grealish's girlfriend Sasha Attwood received over 200 death threats per day
She was sent shocking abuse online during the Euros
Last updated 3rd Aug 2021
England and Aston Villa footballer Jack Grealish was certainly a fan favourite during the Euro 2020 football championships, with many calling for manager Gareth Southgate to give him more game time throughout the competition.
However, whilst Jack was doing his thing on the pitch, helping England get to the final against Italy, his long-term girlfriend Sasha Attwood was the subject of some shocking online abuse.
25-year-old Sasha, who has been with Jack since the pair were 16, has opened up about the online abuse from trolls in a new YouTube video, admitting she was receiving 200 death threats per day during the tournament.
She said: "I keep things private and off my open social media accounts because people are mean. And this whole thing since it's come out has just shown me that people are just so mean.
"Genuinely, I was receiving 200 death threats a day. I'm not exaggerating when I say that. So many messages every single day and I still get them now, all day every day."
We've chosen not to include the examples given by Sasha in this article, but the 25-year-old went on say: "I never realised how bad it actually was and the scary thing is it's young girls. I go on these girls' accounts who are sending me stuff and they're literally 13/14 and it's so sad.
"I try to put it down to age but I think I was never like that at that age, I never sent a message like that."
Sasha's video contains some strong language:
Both Sasha and Jack choose to keep their relationship out of the spotlight, not posting any photos with each other on their personal accounts that are open to the public.
And after confessing she thought about stopping her YouTube tutorials following the online abuse, the model confirmed she feels like YouTube is a 'nicer' platform than the likes of TikTok and Instagram, where she's received the shocking online messages.
Just remember, if you are going to use social media, be kind! ❤️
