Gogglebox's Pete Sandiford announces engagement to girlfriend
Gogglebox fans are over the moon for him! 😍
Gogglebox was back on our TV screens last Friday, and series 17 certainly kicked off with an almighty slice of good news!
Pete Sandiford, who went public with his stunning girlfriend Paige Yeomans back in October last year, casually announced he's now ENGAGED during the first five minutes of episode one on Friday 26th February.
The news was announced during a chat with his sister Sophie as the pair sat down to watch TV. Sophie asked her brother, "Do you feel any different now that you've got engaged?", with Pete saying, "Yeah, I think. I feel like an even bigger responsibility. I don't know why. I'm going to have a wife."
Sophie then said, "Yes, you're going to have a wife."
Gogglebox viewers were clearly over the moon with the good news, with many taking to Twitter to congratulate Pete and Paige.
One fan tweeted, 'pete got engaged omg!!!', with another adding, 'OMG Pete engaged???? Think my neighbours just heard me screeching #gogglebox'. (sic)
Others appeared a little jealous that Pete is now off the market, with one fan writing, 'Nooooo why did Pete get engaged. I fancy him so much #Gogglebox'.
Another cheekily added, 'Pete from gogglebox is engaged and it’s not to me.. It’s all to much'. (sic)

The new series also gave viewers a first look at Stephen Webb and Ellie Warner's new looks, with both changing up their hairstyles during the latest lockdown.
