Emmerdale's Lucy Pargeter reveals the struggles of getting pregnant after being given just a 20% chance
She's expecting twins!
Lucy Pargeter who plays Chas Dingle in the awarding winning soap Emmerdale has revealed the struggles she went through trying to get pregnant.
The 39-year-old actress explained in an interview with OK! magazine that she had been trying with her fiancé Rudi Coleano for 11 years, after the birth of their daughter Lola.
Lucy fell pregnant quickly with Lola so she didn't think infertility would be an issue but as she explained in the interview,
"We thought if it happens, it happens. But it never did. We just thought I was too stressed out with work or a house renovation."
Then a few years ago she thought,
"Hang on, I’m not getting any younger. Women don’t realise that it’s not just you getting older, it’s your eggs getting older and your egg reserves get less every year."
Lucy was given a 20% chance of conceiving, but she was lucky enough to fall pregnant with twins after their second time trying IVF.
The couple announced their happy news at the end of October on Twitter saying, 'We are overwhelmed with your lovely messages and over the moon to be having twins'
