Ed Sheeran shares emotional post as his '÷' tour comes to an end

Last weekend saw Ed Sheeran performing on his '÷' tour for the last time. After two years on the road, the pop star has reflected on the amazing feat with an emotional post on Instagram.
Ed posted a photo of his crew, telling his fans, '9 million people, 893 days, 46 countries, 175 cities, 260 shows, 268 touring crew, 193265 miles travelled, 2 broken arms, 3 marriages, 4 babies. What a wild ride this Divide tour has been.
He continued, 'The whole process of writing the album starting in 2015, then recording it in 2016, promoting it, setting out on the road to play it for all of you guys. It’s so weird to put it to bed and move on. Thank you to everyone involved in this whole Divide process, all the people who helped make the album, all the people who helped promote the album, all the fans who listened and came to watch, this wouldn’t be possible without you.
'Most of all I want to thank my fantastic touring team, who have given up their lives for 2 and a half years to help me achieve my dreams. Thank you for all of your hard work and constant friendship. The Divide tour - 2017 -2019. Officially the biggest tour of all time, so weird to say that, and we survived it !' sic
Thousands of people have responded to his post, including The Chainsmokers, who said, 'congrats ed! it’s been amazing to watch' sic, and Tinie Tempah who commented, '👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾'.
After finishing his tour, Ed announced that he would be taking a break, however he has since confirmed that he is not retiring from music all together. Posting an Instagram Story yesterday, Ed said, 'I'm having 18 months off to make another album and hang out with my cats'.

Co-written by drum and bass group Rudimental and Ed, this single was a hit in 2015 and appeared on the group's second album 'We The Generation' in that year. It was the second collaboration for Ed and the group, who co-wrote and also remixed 'Bloodstream' on Ed's album 'x'.
Major Lazer featuring Justin Bieber and Mø - 'Cold Water' (2016)
Ed was also co-writer on another Justin Bieber track, which also worked with DJ group Major Lazer, made up of Diplo, Jillionaire and Walshy Fire, with the song also featuring Danish singer and producer MØ. It reached Number 1 in the UK in 2016.
'Pretty Woman' is featured on Robbie's most recent album, 'The Heavy Entertainment Show', released in 2016. Ed co-wrote the song with Robbie, teamed up with Benny Blanco again and also producer Steve Robson for the track.
This song was co-written by Zara and Ed along with some other songwriters including Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid. Ed also provided backing vocals on the track, which appeared on Zara's second album 'So Good', released in 2017.
Liam Payne - 'Strip That Down', featuring Quavo (2017)
The debut solo single from former One Directioner Liam Payne was co-written by Ed, Liam and Quavo who also features on the track. Ed also provided uncredited backing vocals for the song, which reached Number 3 in the UK charts.
Rita Ora made her comeback in 2017 with a song penned by the fantastic Ed, which also served as the lead single from her second album, 'Phoenix, released in 2018.
Anne-Marie's most popular song as it stands is '2002', which she co-wrote with Ed and who encouraged her to release it as a single. It peaked at Number 3 in the UK charts.
Ed and Olly teamed up once again in 2018 for Olly's comeback single, 'Moves', which also featured vocals from Snoop Dogg. The track featured on the soundtrack for Johnny English Strikes Again.

In other Ed Sheeran news, the singer has helped a terminal ill fan tick another item off her bucket list. 16-year-old Sian has a rare, inoperable tumour behind her eyes and really wanted to meet Ed Sheeran.
The pair met at his recent gig in Leeds, where Sian gave Ed one of her Sian Smile bracelets. The singer wore it for the whole show, showing support for Sian.
It was also revealed recently, that Ed failed his music course at college, getting straight Fs! The exhibition in Christchurch Mansion, Ipswich, was curated by the singer's dad, and has a collection of personal objects and memorabilia, including the letter from Ed's music college.
