Eamonn Holmes includes touching tribute to Ruth Langsford's sister in anniversary post
It's their nine year wedding anniversary
This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes has posted a touching tribute to his wife, Ruth Langsford, on their wedding anniversary, nine years after their big day.
Taking to Instagram, Eamonn uploaded a picture of him and Ruth hugging and smiling, with the caption, 'It was the hottest day of the year, June 26th 2010'.
The presenter, who met Ruth in 1997, added, 'We can't celebrate our anniversary today but we can still remember Julia in the best way, as one of our Bridesmaids, smiling, dancing and singing'.
The couple's anniversary comes after Ruth's sister, Julia, sadly passed away on Friday, following a 'very long illness'.
Thanking her friends and followers, Ruth posted a photo of herself and her sister on Instagram, writing, 'My lovely Sis Julia has sadly died after a very long illness. My heart is completely broken.
'She was the kindest and most gentle soul and I will miss her forever. As I am sure you will appreciate I need to take time to grieve with my family. Thank you for your understanding'.
Following her passing, Ruth cancelled her TV appearances with Rylan Clark-Neal stepping in to fill her This Morning hosting job last Friday. Speaking on the show, Eamonn said, “You may be aware of the terrible bereavement Ruth had yesterday,” before reading out Ruth's emotional post.
He also thanked Rylan, adding, “Nobody understands more than Rylan, he has been a great comfort to Ruth and a great help.” He later took to Instagram to reiterate his gratitude, writing, 'A Friend in Need is a Friend indeed. For on and off screen Rylan , Thank you for being there'.
We hope Ruth is OK❤.
