Don Cheadle 'didn't intend to do everything' in new film about Miles Davis
The actor starred in, produced, co-wrote and directed his new film.
Don Cheadle has admitted he ‘didn’t intend to do everything’ as he makes his debut as a director in his new film Miles Ahead.
The film follows the legendary jazz musician Miles Davis who is played by Don, but he didn’t expect to be filling other roles on set too as he even helped produce and write the film.
Speaking to our Ents team, the 51-year-old said he took on the extra responsibilities when he realised it would be a ‘far cry from what anyone else was going to come in and pitch’.
He added that sitting in the director’s chair wasn’t something he’d planned to do so quickly.
“I’ve been busy in doing other things, series, movies, raising kids and there’s a lot of stuff that was happening - I was not in any way itching to jump into that chair anytime soon, I was waiting for something to inspire me to do so.”
