David Beckham joins Instagram to share 40th birthday party photos
He gains 5million followers in just three days
David Beckham has finally joined Instagram to share photos of his 40th birthday celebrations in Morocco.
Testament to his almost unparalleled fame, the ex-footballer and model has gained 5million followers in three days on the photo-sharing site.
Opening with a shirtless photo in bed on Saturday, Becks said: “Good morning and hello! It’s great to finally be on Instagram, been a long time coming but I can’t wait to start sharing all my special moments with you. Thank you for all your birthday messages so far. Looking forward to a great day with friends and family x”
Becks then shared a series of himself with Victoria and son Brooklyn in the glorious African sunshine as he celebrated his landmark birthday.
As the celebrations moved into night time on Sunday, he posetd a lovely pic of him celebrating with parents Ted and Sandra and younger sister Joanne, writing: “I have a lot to thank these people for. Couldn't have done it without them.”
Mid-party he later praised “shy and retiring ladies” - wife Victoria, her best mate Eva Longoria and former Spice Girls band mates Emma Bunton and Mel C.
The party is reported to have wrapped up at 7am and the next day, a visibly suffering Becks posted a photo of daughter Harper patting his head, commenting: “Someone is trying to make daddy feel pretty today after a heavy night.”
