Celebrities Raise Money for Dogs Home
Celebrities take to Twitter to raise money for Manchester Dogs Home after a devastating fire.
As the news hit yesterday evening that a suspected arson attack at Manchester Dogs Home had killed and injured over 40 dogs, celebrities have been taking to Twitter and helping raise money for the dogs home.
Journalist and television host Piers Morgan tweeted last night asking his 4.24 million followers to donate if they could.
Comedian Ricky Gervais also retweeted the Manchester Evening News's tweet to his 6.08 million followers.
TV presenter Philip Schofield who was born in Manchester tweeted this morning, again asking for donations to the cause.
133 of the dogs that have survived have been taken to Cheshire Dogs home near Warrington. The home, which also has a site in Cheshire, opened in 1893 and has rehomed more than one million dogs.
Over £500,000 has been raised since the incident on Thursday evening through various Just Giving accounts, you can donate by visiting the Just Giving page.
