Andy Murray holds taped up SPOTY award
The tennis star won the award for the third time
Tennis champion Andy Murray took home his third Sports Personaliy Of The Year award last night, but the trophy already looked a little worse for wear.
The Scot wasn't there in person and appeared via video link from Miami, after eagle-eyed viewers took to Twitter to query if the award was broken, Murray later admitted that it was.
Sharing a picture to his official Facebook page, Andy wrote “Incredibly proud to win Sports Personality Of The Year for a third time. Thanks to everyone who voted for me, it really means a lot. It's been an incredible year and it wouldn't have been possible without the support of my team, family, friends and especially all of you, my fans... Here's to 2017!”

The 29-year-old beat triathlete Alistair Brownlee as he became a record-breaking recipient for the third time. He previously won in 2013 and 2015.
It's been an incredible year for Murray having become a dad for the first time, winning another Olympic gold, taking home his second Wimbledon title and being ranked the world's top tennis player.
After winning Wimbledon back in July, the sports star decided to celebrate his win in a very unusual place.
Posting on Instagram Andy's post match celebrations saw him enjoy an ice bath with his huge trophy saying, "Holding this bad boy makes the ice bath that little bit more bearable."
Andy will be hoping to continue his sucess into 2017 and keep a hold of his number one ranking.
