Made In Chelsea viewers were left in tears during last night's (Monday 27th May) episode, when popular cast member Alex Mytton opened up about the tragic death of his mum back in April.
Alex, who has appeared on the popular E4 show since 2013, bravely opened up to his close friend Jamie Laing about losing his mum, admitting "she was an amazing woman".
He told Jamie, "My mum was an amazing woman and such a big positive part of my life. There's nothing I can say that will take away losing her."
Alex continued, "It's a very surreal moment you never, ever picture. You never think, 'Oh, there might be a time when I actually have to sit there and say the last words'.
"It's one of the hardest things you have to do... Another part of it is, you don't want to say these things, because you don't want them to hear it, because it's like an acceptance or an admittance that they are about to pass away, do you know what I mean?"
Alex later revealed dealing with his mum's death is "undoubtedly one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with," saying, "The fact of it, I'm gonna miss her every day. There's always gonna be a huge hole."
Consoling his best friend, Jamie replied saying, "I'm so sorry, man. I really am. You just don't deserve it. I'll be there whenever you need, I swear to God."
After hearing Alex's emotional words, viewers of Made In Chelsea were quick to praise the reality star on Twitter.
One fan wrote, 'I’m crying for Alex 😭😭😭 such wise words #MIC #MadeInChelsea'. Another added, 'So brave of @AlexanderMytton to talk so openly about his mum passing away on tonight’s #madeinchelsea sadly so many people will relate to what he’s going through and maybe him talking so openly might help them too💔💔💔'. sic
Another then wrote, 'I feel for Alex... in the same situation myself 1.5 years ago. I still cry.... and just cried again now 💔 #MadeInChelsea'. sic
Alex confirmed he'd lost his mum to brain cancer back in April this year, sharing a very emotional message out to his fans on Instagram.
He wrote, 'I’m not usually very good at expressing myself on here emotionally or maybe just in general but I’m gonna attempt to make an exception. Last week I had to say goodbye to my mum for the last time. After fighting, what now seems like a brief battle with brain cancer my mum finally succumbed to the disease. So I just wanna say if there was ever proof needed that these diseases act at random or without prejudice you would be it mum.'
He continued, 'You really were the kindest, most caring, beautiful all-round woman and undoubtedly the biggest force for good in my life. I owe you infinitely for shaping me to be the man I am today. I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that life was going to be a struggle without you, and despite thinking I was mentally prepared for the inevitable when the inevitable actually came it hit me harder than I could have ever imagined. Strangely in that moment I felt like I was transported back to being that helpless little toddler who would scream “mummy I need you!!!” literally every 5 minutes or whenever I needed my butt wiping (how you kept your cool with me then I still don’t know! ha) and I was hit with sudden realisation of just how much you have done for me and just how big your heart was, for me, your loved ones and for everyone around you.
'It’s probably fair to say that despite trying to act otherwise I was a proper mummy’s boy and even at my ripe age you still provided a subconscious safety blanket that followed me through life from afar. Now as I look ahead in a life without you I want you to know that that subconscious presence lives on and really I just want to say thank you so much for being an amazing mother to me, for showing me total compassion and love, and although there is still a lot I wanted you to get to see I will never forget the memories we made, I will always love you and yes I will probably always “need you”. Rest in Peace Mumma xxx ❤️❤️'. sic
