Ahead of the annual Sunday Times Rich List this weekend, the top 20 UK musicians have been released and while it is dominated by older men one exception is singer Adele.

According to the list Adele earned ÂŁ40m last year, taking her wealth to a massive ÂŁ125m. This boost was partly down to her 122-date global arena tour and the continued success of her album '25'.

Not only is Adele the only solo female in the top 20, she also tops the under-30s music rich list.

Robbie Williams appears at number 16 in the list with a wealth of ÂŁ150m, up ÂŁ5m on last year with releases from his 11th studio album, 'The Heavy Entertainment Show'.

Many former members of the Beatles and their family are also in the list, with Ringo Starr at number eight and the late George Harrison's wife and son, Olivia and Dhani Harrison, listed at number seven.

Sir Paul McCartney and his wife Nancy Shevell topped the musicians list taking their fortune to ÂŁ780m, a massive ÂŁ40m more than composer Lord Lloyd-Webber who is number two.
