Virgin Trains passengers left angry by delays can now tune in to a video channel designed to promote positive mental health.
Virgin Trains passengers left angry by delays can now tune in to a video channel designed to promote positive mental health.
The Be Mindful service features real-time footage of train journeys and videos of picturesque locations such as Lake Windermere, the Yorkshire Dales and Loch Lomond.
It is available on Virgin's free entertainment app Beam.
Over the past 12 months 17% of Virgin's east coast services failed to arrive at their destination within 10 minutes of their scheduled time. Some 13% of west coast trains also failed to meet the punctuality measurement.
Virgin's co-chairman, Patrick McCall, predicted that the Be Mindful channel would boost the mood of passengers.
He said: We know a lot of our customers lead busy and stressful lives, so we wanted to launch an exclusive channel to make their journeys an even more positive and relaxed experience.
"Here at Virgin Trains we pride ourselves on continuously improving our customers' on-board experience and that includes their positive mental health."
The content was developed with the Mental Health Foundation to mark World Mental Health Day.
