Tommy Wright urges St Johnstone to seal Betfred Cup progress against Stirling
St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright is focused on sealing Betfred Cup progress at the second attempt after being held by Brechin on Tuesday.
Saints drew 1-1 at Glebe Park but failed to get a bonus point, which left Group B wide open.
Opponents Stirling can also win the group but Wright is relaxed going into the McDiarmid Park encounter.
Wright said: It's still in our hands. We went to Brechin on Tuesday wanting to make sure we got nine points and make sure we sealed it. They were a threat once in the second half and we got caught on a counter-attack. I was really pleased with how we played.
We're still in a good position, we have seven points out of nine. We will get ready and go and try and win that game.''
Stirling Albion have six points but manager Stuart McLaren is not letting his League Two side get carried away.
He said: We have done really well in the group however, going to the home of a well-established Premiership club and winning is a very tall order.
We will give it a go but we know that St Johnstone are big favourites. We will look to show that we are a decent side and take things from there.''
