St Johnstone striker Graham Cummins felt their 3-1 Betfred Cup win at Elgin was evidence of a smooth transition for his new team-mates.
Blair Alston, Keith Watson and Paul Paton made their debuts as Saints recorded a comfortable victory.
Cummins, who was on target along with Danny Swanson and Steven MacLean, told St Johnstone's website: "It's good to get three three points for the first game of the season.
"It was only our third game so anything could have happened, but I thought our fitness levels were very good and it showed with the new lads coming in, we seemed to have a good understanding.
"They have come in and know what to expect from the club. I know myself from last year it's a very easy club to settle into.
"All the lads get on well and we went to Ireland for a week and the lads got to know each other. The lads who came in straight away know their job and know it's about the team and not individuals."
