A police watchdog has begun an investigation following the death of a woman found seriously injured at a house in Fife.
A police watchdog has begun an investigation following the death of a woman found seriously injured at a house in Fife.
Elizabeth Bowe, 50, died at Dundee's Ninewells Hospital on Tuesday 20th September following the incident three days earlier at Bobby Jones Place in St Andrews.
A 51-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (Pirc) has now been instructed by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) to carry out a probe in the wake of the death.
A Pirc spokesman said: "The investigation will focus on the initial police response leading up to the incident.
"A report on the commissioner's findings will be submitted to the COPFS in due course."
