A New Era For Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance

It has flown thousands of miles and saved countless lives from its base in Perth, but it's time has come.

The Bolkow helicopter has been in use as an air ambulance for decades but will be replaced later this year.

Paramedic John Pritchard says the new Eurocopter will offer a better service:

John said: “We will have many memories of our SCAA Bolkow and of the missions flown and the people whose lives we’ve saved and touched over the years.

“As the paramedics flying in the last ever UK HEMS Bolkow, we feel privileged to have been a part of - and a final chapter to - the amazing, exciting and fulfilling HEMS history of the aircraft.”

Staff will finally say goodbye to the helicopter in November.
