All services are operating normally at Perth Royal Infirmary today following the chemical leak discovered in a boiler room of the hospital yesterday.

All services are operating normally at Perth Royal Infirmary today following the chemical leak discovered in a boiler room of the hospital yesterday.

Nine people (eight members of staff and one visitor) were taken to PRI’s Emergency Department for assessment following the incident. No one was admitted to hospital and all were discharged home by early evening yesterday.

No patient areas were evacuated as a result of the incident. Visiting hours to the Tay Ward and Stroke Unit have resumed as normal today.

NHS Tayside will carry out an incident review in line with normal procedures.
