Hartley wants another couple of faces in his squad
Dundee manager Paul Hartley believes his side can progress next season with “one or two additions''. Hartley used the international break to build for the future by securing Inverness midfielders James Vincent and Danny Williams on three-year pre-contract deals while handing Paul McGowan and Darren O'Dea extended terms.
But Hartley distanced the club from too many more signings this summer.
He said: It's been a total rebuilding job in the past couple of years. We feel we have a really settled team now. There will not be too many additions. It was important to get the guys tied up and we have one or two others out of contract who we plan to speak to. We have been speaking to Paul McGinn. Hopefully we can sort something out there. He's a player we want to keep. “
“He has done really well. We have the two lads coming in and if we can add one or two more, we will be happy. The mainstay of the team is here now and hopefully we can keep building and getting better.”
Hartley added: If we can keep adding one or two of quality, I can only see the team getting better.''
Dundee, who are three points off the top six, finished sixth on their return to the top flight but Hartley admits they might have to beat Ross County on
Saturday to secure another top-half finish, with Celtic to follow on Tuesday before a trip to Hamilton the weekend after.
“I've said I think we need to win two out of the three games, which will be difficult, but to give ourselves a chance we have got to try and get three points on Saturday,'' he said.
