Police in Fife are appealing for information in order to trace a 40-year-old man, who is missing from the Anstruther area.

Ian Marr left his home in Peter Howling Place yesterday morning and has not been seen since.

His silver Subaru Impreza motor car has since been sighted on the M80 in North Lanarkshire heading westbound at 12.15pm yesterday. However it is unclear if Ian was within it and where he currently is.

Ian is described as a white man with a medium build. He is around 6ft tall in height with short cropped brown hair and brown eyes. It is unknown what he was wearing.

Inspector Nicola Black of Cupar Police Station said: “Ian has now been missing for some time and we a growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“This behaviour is considered out of character for Ian and we are eager to trace him as soon as possible.

“Anyone who knows Ian’s whereabouts, or recognises his description, is asked to contact us immediately.”

Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101.
