Rita Ora Speaks Jay-Z & Working With Prince!
Her second album is due later this year
Rita Ora has opened up about her very special relationship with her boss and friend Jay-Z.
The hip-hop mogul signed Rita up to his influential imprint and management company Roc Nation six years ago and she says they’ve always been very close.
"Now we're at a place where I've grown up a little bit; it's been two years since my last album," Rita said.
"When I met him I was 17, and I am 23 now, so he's watched me grow and now it's about me having my own opinion and making my own decisions, which he understands.
She continued to Paper Magazine: "It's more of a brother-sister relationship really. He really cares about me and it's nice to see a boss who also really wants you to succeed and he's really doing everything in his power to make this perfect."
Although Rita has enjoyed plenty of success in the UK, Jay-Z is hoping that 2014 is the year she cracks America.
Clearly going all guns blazing, her upcoming single 'I Will Never Let You Down' is a collaboration with her beau Calvin Harris and she’s also been creating music with the legend that is Prince.
Rita said of her work with The Purple One: "We did a few tracks together. I flew to Minneapolis and went to Paisley Park, which is like his iconic studios and we just made music.I was there for a week. It was the best thing I have ever done in my life."
The follow-up to Rita’s 2012 debut album ‘Ora’ is set for release later this year. Check out the ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ behind-the-scenes teaser right here:
