Belgian Teen In World Cup Crowd Lands L’Oreal Deal
17-year-old Axelle Despiegelaere was spotted by photographers
A Belgian teenager spotted in the crowd at a World Cup game has landed a lucrative deal with L’Oreal.
17-year-old Axelle Despiegelaere was picked out by photographers during Belgium’s game against Russia at Estádio Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro on 22nd June.
After images of her wearing a horned Belgium hat and facepaint and waving pompoms circulated in newspapers and on websites across the globe, talent spotters at L’Oreal got in touch.
This week, Axelle announced on her Facebook page – which has over 200,000 likes – that she has signed a contract with L'Oréal Professionnel to promote their new beauty products.
A subsequently released L'Oreal Professionnel Belgique YouTube video has been watched more than 1.7million times.
Despite her incredible few weeks, Axelle is now facing a backlash after various publications highlighted a Facebook photo showing her with a rifle and a dead gazelle on a hunting trip in Africa.
