Tay Road Bridge marks a milestone
The Tay crossing is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
At 12.30pm on August 18 1966, the Queen Mother officially opened the Tay Road Bridge.
At 1.4 miles long, it is one of the longest road bridges in Europe and its construction took around three years to complete.
Tay Bridgehead councillor Maggie Taylor, who is also the chair of the bridge's board, and says it's incredible....
Over the last five decades, it has carried thousands of vehicles every day and if it is part of your daily commute, you are joining around 26,000 vehicles using it every day.
And bridge manager, Alan Hutchison says its future looks bright.....
