Police Hunt After Arbroath Sex Attack
A 21 year old woman was attacked during the early hours of Sunday morning
A man who carried out a sexual assault on a young woman in an underpass is being hunted by police.
The 21-year-old victim was attacked in Robert Street, Arbroath, between 2.30am and 5am on Sunday morning.
Police said they "using all available means'' to trace the attacker who is white, around 5ft 10in with a stocky build.
At the time of the incident he was clean shaven and was wearing a white t-shirt, dark jeans, a dark jacket and light coloured trainers.
Detective Inspector Nicola McGovern said: "This is a particularly distressing
assault and I am appealing for anyone who may have been in the area of Robert Street and Morrisons Supermarket in the early hours of this morning to come forward and assist our inquiries.
"Officers are continuing to carry out inquiries into this incident and I would like to reassure the public that we are using all available means to identify the person responsible.
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101".
