Man assaulted and robbed in Dundee

The incident happened in the early hours of this morning

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted and robbed in Dundee during the early hour of this morning.

The man was walking on the footpath between Larch Street and Blackness Road between 4.25am and 4.45am when he was approached by another man, who assaulted him and took his wallet before taking off in the direction of Edward Street.

It is believed the suspect is in his thirties, about 5ft 8 inches tall and has brown hair and some facial hair.

He was wearing a white beanie hat, grey tracksuit bottoms, a white hooded jumper and a black body warmer.

Detective Constable Kieran Bradley said: “Thankfully the man was not injured as a result of this incident.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around this time and who witnessed the incident or saw anyone matching the description above to contact us.

“Additionally I would ask anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage to contact us.”
