96-Year-Old Woman Dies After Crash Between Car And Bus On A9

A 96-year-old woman has died in hospital after a collision on the A9 between Murthly and Bankfoot on Friday.

A red Mazda CX5 and a white D&E Coaches single decker bus collided at around 10.15am. The bus was stopped in lane one of the southbound dual carriageway behind a second D&E Coaches bus at the time of the incident.

The driver and passenger of the Mazda were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where the passenger died as a result of her injuries. The driver, a woman in her 60s, did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the incident.

Police are looking to speak to anyone who may have seen either vehicle prior to the incident to contact them on 101.
