Woman taken to hospital after Crewe house fire
Emergency services were called to the property yesterday afternoon
A woman's had to be taken to hospital following a house fire in Crewe.
It happened yesterday afternoon at an address on Fairburn Avenue. Two firefighters extinguished the blaze and made the area safe within around 30 minutes.
It's believed the blaze involved cooking on a hob.
The woman's believed to have been suffering minor effects of smoke inhalation, and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
A Cheshire Fire & Rescue spokesperson said: "At around 3.10pm firefighters received reports of fire in an occupied domestic property in Fairburn Avenue, Crewe.
"On arrival a smoke alarm was sounding and there was a small fire involving cooking on a hob.
"The occupier was assessed by paramedics before being taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
"She is believed to have been suffering minor effects of smoke inhalation.
"Two firefighters wore breathing apparatus inside the property. One of them extinguished the fire in the kitchen with a hose reel jet.
"A large fan was then used to clear the property of smoke.
"Firefighters left the address once they were satisfied that it was safe.
"They were in attendance for around half-an-hour."
