Woman arrested after fire in Stoke-on-Trent
She remains in police custody while inquiries continue
A woman has been arrested following reports of a house fire in Stoke-on-Trent.
Staffordshire Police say their officers attended a property off London Road just after 6.55pm on Wednesday (27 July).
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service along with paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service were also in attendance.
Residents who lived near to the property were evacuated.
All persons were accounted for and no one was reported injured.
Nearby residents have since been able to return to their properties.
A 33-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted arson with intent to endanger life.
She remains in police custody while inquiries continue.
Staffordshire fire and rescue say Crews from Hanley, Longton, Newcastle and Sandyford attended as did paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Police.
Six breathing apparatus and two hose reels were used to extinguish the fire.
All persons were accounted for and no one was injured.
Police assisted with the evacuation of nearby residents as a precautionary measure.
They have all since returned to their homes.
Fire crews left the scene shortly after 11.35pm.
A joint investigation looking into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
