Well dressing display honours the Queen

Each year creations take pride of place at local towns and villages as part of historical tradition.

Those working on displays use natural raw materials such as petals to put together pieces on different themes.

Hartington's 2022 well dressing was to honour Her Majesty The Queen on her platinum jubilee year, featuring Paddington Bear tipping his hat and the words, "Thank you Ma-am".

Given her recent passing, designer Lucy Annatt says it's taken on new meaning:

"It's proven it was the right decision to go ahead with this. As people come to look at the well, some have been in tears.

"This has become all the more poignant."
