Police investigating 'unexplained' death of man in Kidsgrove

Officers think he might have been hit by a car the day before his body was found

Police have launched an investigation after a man was found dead in Kidsgrove.

Officers were called at 12.15pm on Sunday 1 May to an address on Lamb Street.

A 44-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Staffordshire Police say the death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are on-going.

It is understood that the man, a pedestrian, may have been involved in a road traffic collision sometime between 4.30pm and 5pm the previous day (Saturday 30 April) in the Market Street area.

This incident was not reported to police or the ambulance service at the time.

Officers would like to speak to the driver of the vehicle or any witnesses.
