Two men charged after Uttoxeter assault to appear in court

Two men from Birmingham charged with GBH following an assault in Uttoxeter at the weekend, are due to appear in court today.

A man was left in a critical condition after being assaulted on Market Place in the early hours of Sunday.

18-year-old Hamza Ali and 42-year-old Mohammed Ishtiaq will appear before magistrates in Newcastle-under-Lyme today.

The pair are also charged with possession of cannabis in Birmingham on the same date.

Three other males, aged 16, 21 and 22, all from the West Midlands, have been bailed while enquiries continue.
