Two arrests after man stabbed with glass bottle in Stoke-on-Trent

Police have arrested two men after a man was stabbed with a glass bottle in Stoke-on-Trent.

At 4.03am this morning (21 July), officers were called to Trinity Street in Hanley following reports of disorder.

We went to the scene and found the victim, a man in his late teens, with stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital by paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

His injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

At this stage, it's believed the victim was approached by two men following a verbal altercation.

The men used a broken glass bottle to attack the victim before running away.

A short time later, a 25-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent was detained on suspicion of wounding with intent.

A 23-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was also arrested on suspicion of the same offence and possession of cannabis.

Both remain in custody and are being questioned by officers about the incident.

A cordon remains in place on Trinity Street and Hope Street whilst enquiries continue.
