Two 13-year-old boys in hospital after Stoke shooting

Police are investigating after two 13-year-old boys were shot at in Stoke-on-Trent, last night (Wednesday).

Police were called at 10.05pm following the incident near to garages on Borrowdale Road in the Norton area.

Both boys were taken to hospital, one to the Royal Stoke University Hospital and one to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Their conditions are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

A forensic examination of the scene is taking place.

Detective Inspector Pete Goodwin, from CID, said:

“Detectives are working tirelessly to establish exactly what happened and who is responsible.

“I’m appealing for anyone with information or who saw what happened to get in touch with us as soon as possible, as they may have vital information.

“If you live in the area please check your CCTV and if you were driving in that area at around 10am last night please check your dashcam footage.

“Extra officers will be in the area to offer reassurance.”
