Tributes paid to Cheshire pensioner killed in road accident near Knutsford

He passed away after being hit by a number of vehicles earlier this month

Tributes have been paid to a pensioner who died after being hit by a number of vehicles near Knutsford.

Emergency crews were called to the A50 in High Legh at around 8.17pm on Monday 20th November, and found Douglas Burke seriously injured.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have now lead tributes saying they are heartbroken.

"Douglas was enjoying his retirement, travelling around the UK and Europe when not playing golf or meeting with friends", they said in a statement.

“He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandad"

Cheshire Police are continuing to investigate the incident, and would like anyone who saw anything to contact them on 101 quoting IML- 1695711.
