Stoke MP Jo Gideon to stand down at next election
She has represented Stoke-on-Trent Central since 2019.
The Conservative MP for Stoke-on-Trent Central Jo Gideon has announced she will not be standing at the next general election.
She has represented the constituency since being elected in 2019.
In a statement on her Twitter account, she said it has been "a huge honour to represent the people of Stoke-on-Trent Central" and added she is "incredibly proud" of her achievements.
Ms Gideon added she had not come to the decision lightly and she will continue to invest her "time and love" into her work until the next General Election.
She said her achievements in Stoke included working to raise awareness of the dangers of button batteries after the death of two-year-old Harper-Lee Fanthorpe, and raising £10m to remove 23,000 tonnes of waste.
