Staffordshire Police appeal for information as teenage girl dies following collision

A teenage girl who was involved in a collision in the Lichfield area has died.

Just after 10.25pm on Monday (29 May), a white Vauxhall Vivaro van and two girls were involved in a collision on Marsh Lane, Whittington.

Police officers attended the scene with colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Both girls sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital.

Sadly, one of the girls seriously injured in the collision has died.

Another 16-year-old girl remains in a critical but stable condition.

Officers from the collision investigation unit are particularly keen to speak to witnesses or those who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time.
