Tributes have been paid to a Stafford nurse, who's died from covid-19.

Veronica Guy, known as Ronnie had worked in the Renal Unit at County Hospital, Stafford for more than 20 years.

She died at Royal Stoke on 4 September 2021.

She leaves her husband Colin, two sons, Lee and Craig and three grandchildren.

Tracy Bullock, Chief Executive at UHNM said: “Our deepest sympathies are with her family at this very sad time and we thank them for her many years of service.”

Sister Sally Davies said:

“Ronnie was very vivacious and always up for a laugh. She loved to dance with her husband Colin and their friends and we all had some brilliant times together.

“She was an advocate for her patients, having had a renal transplant herself and was able to share her lived experience with our patients.

She had worked in Stafford for more than 26 years as a healthcare assistant first before training to be a nurse and was incredibly well known and extremely loved by her colleagues at County Hospital. We will miss her greatly.”
