South Staffordshire crash leaves two men dead and one seriously injured

Officers from the Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Essington.

The collision, involving a grey Audi S3, occurred at around 4am on Sunday 1 August 2021 on the A460 Cannock Road near to the junction of Wood Hayes Road.

Two men were pronounced dead at the scene.

The families of the men are being supported by specially-trained officers. They can now be named as 22-year-old Kaya Morrison-Taylor and 22-year-old William Craddock, both of Walsall.

A third man, also aged 22, was seriously injured and remains in hospital.

The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct for an independent investigation.

Witnesses who may have seen the vehicle before the collision or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to message Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter or call 101 quoting incident number 123 of 1 August.
