Renewed police appeal after Newcastle stabbing

Detectives have described two men

Staffordshire Police are continuing to appeal for information after a man was stabbed in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

At 2.30am on Sunday (25 June), officers were called to Orme Road as a man was found with injuries to his arms and hands.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital by paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service where he remains in a stable condition.

His injuries are not life threatening.

Detective Inspector Ben Thomas, from CID, said:

“I’d like to thank the public for their patience around the cordon and to those who have already came forward with information to help us with our investigation.

“We do not believe there to be any wider threat to the public at this time. This was an isolated incident and we are continuing to find out more about what happened as we complete our enquiries.

“We know that the victim was approached by two men in the street before he was injured. Both of these men left the area on foot shortly afterwards and may be seen on nearby CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage.”

One of the suspects is described as white and has curly blonde hair. He was wearing black tracksuit bottoms.

The second suspect is described as black and was wearing a black tracksuit.
