Just after 10pm on Sunday 17 April the victim, a 22-year-old man from Crewe, left the White Horse pub on Pillory Street and walked towards Mill Street with a group of friends.

At about 10.25pm, as the group got towards the Wickstead Arms, the victim was approached from behind by an unknown man who punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground.

The offender then fled the scene on foot.
