Man dies after being hit by lorry in Stoke-on-Trent
It happened in the Trentham area yesterday afternoon
A man has died after being hit by a lorry in Stoke-on-Trent.
Emergency services were called to Stone Road yesterday afternoon. Despite best efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
In an update released, Staffordshire Police said: "At 3.20pm yesterday afternoon (Thursday 23 November), we were called to Stone Road, near the Trentham Estate, to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a lorry.
"Officers went to the scene with paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service and the air ambulance.
"Sadly, the man died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and will be supported by specially-trained officers."
Staffordshire Police have now launched an investigation.
They would like to speak to anyone who saw anything, or who has dashcam footage. Witnesses can contact the force on 101, quoting incident 373 of 23 November.
