Man charged with firearms offences following 'suspicious incident' in Stoke-on-Trent

A man has been charged following an incident in Blurton on Monday evening.

Police were called at 11.10pm on Monday 18 October to reports of a suspicious incident on Finstock Avenue.

Michael Sharples, 21, of Emsworth Road, Blurton, was arrested and has been charged with possess a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, possess an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and robbery.

Sharples appeared before magistrates at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Wednesday 20 October) and was remanded ahead of his next court appearance.
