There are multiple sets of elections that are going on across both counties.

People in Staffordshire's eight districts and boroughs – which include Newcastle, Staffordshire Moorlands and Stafford, excluding Stoke-on-Trent – will find out which of the candidates fill the 62 newly available seats in Staffordshire County Council.

Others across Stoke and Staffordshire will find out who the new face in the office for Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner is, with people across Cheshire finding out their elected Police & Crime Commissioner too.

Results will start to come in this afternoon with more expected on Saturday and for some district councils and wards on Monday.
